Project

Rutherford County Judicial Building Murfreesboro, Tennessee

Description

This project consisted of remodeling the fourth floor of the existing Judicial Building in order to accommodate two courtrooms, judges' offices, jury room for each courtroom, prisoner-holding rooms, remodeled restrooms (complying with ADA standards), private restrooms for judges, remodeled corridor, and enhanced security systems. Each judge has their own private entrance into their respective courtrooms.

Special concerns about noise travel from courtrooms into jury rooms were addressed. In addition, special security issues inside the courtrooms were addressed by providing bullet proof witness stands and judge's bench area. Hardwood flooring, paneling, and molding was installed in each courtroom. Coffered lighting was designed in each courtroom to produce a soft, warm, diffuse light throughout the entire courtroom.
