Description |
This project consisted of remodeling an existing
residence, built around 1910, into an Assisted Care Living Facility. The facility
is capable of housing 12 residents on the first floor and
providing a residence for the care giver on the second floor. All guidelines set
forth by the State Health Department governing elderly residents had to be followed. The first floor consists of six double occupant bedrooms, living/dining
room, exterior front patio, foyer, clinic, kitchen, and two handicap accessible restrooms,
complete with handicap shower units. Additional egress corridors had to be incorporated
both on the first and second floors to provide required egresses. In addition, the
existing mechanical system was revamped in order to meet code related air quantities and
qualities. The owners of this facility are Jim and Jan Bishop and the general contractor
was Advance Construction Company. |
