Project

St. Mark's Catholic Church Manchester, Tennessee

Description

St. Mark's Catholic Church, located on Highway 55 just north of Manchester, is a mission church started by St. Paul the Apostle Church in Tullahoma. This project was a design/build team effort by Whitehead+Oakley+Dunlap+Bumpas, LLC, and Duggin Construction of Tullahoma. The project was completed in April, 2001 and consists of approximately 7,000 sq. ft.

Whitehead+Oakley+Dunlap+Bumpas, LLC, provided a master plan layout for future development of the property to assist in placing this building in a location on the 20 acre site that would allow for future buildings such as a larger sanctuary, educational facilities, playing fields, etc.

The building consists of a 180-seat sanctuary that is centered around 3 meeting rooms. Two of the meeting rooms open directly off the sanctuary and serve as overflow seating areas. There is a large narthex to serve as a gathering place before and after mass. There are 2 offices, a sacristy, restroom facilities, and a kitchen open to the largest of the meeting rooms. The building is constructed of brick veneer and exterior insulation finish system on metal studs and pre-engineered steel building frame.
